Unit 8: Fantasy Inspiration & Research

My first inspiration for fantasy was the polish tale of the basilisk, i loved how the creature was betrayed in the story and how it still is very popular in poland and mainly Warsaw.

Special statue, supposed lair, restaurant, shop and full history behind it being a night creature turning anyone in its way into stone with just its stare.

There are many descriptions of the basilisk in the mythology but most common is a lizard with a beak protecting gold

Basically like this

My main inspiration is the last of us, a post apocalyptic world with monster called clicker who are infected by fungus that infect other by biting them

“After a global pandemic destroys civilization, a hardened survivor takes charge of a 14-year-old girl who may be humanity’s last hope.”

While i have not seen it personally or played it i watched my dad ay it and the designs of the infected was the most inspiring

Fantasy is a genre of literature, film, and art that involves imaginative and often supernatural elements. It typically includes elements such as magic, mythical creatures, and imaginary worlds. Fantasy works often transport the audience to a different reality, allowing them to escape everyday life and explore new and exciting possibilities. It can take various forms, including novels, short stories, movies, and games. Some popular examples of fantasy include the Lord of the Rings series, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones.

To me fantasy is about magic and mystical creatures with power that can only be wished and dreamed about like flying or summoning demons
